CanalEnergia highlights the price caps for the battery auctions of 2 and 4 December, whose tender documents ANEEL approved on 27 October: BRL 1.76 million per MW per year with local content and BRL 1.58 million without that requirement.

According to ANEEL, in a note of 27 October 2026, the revenue is a fixed annual amount, paid in twelve instalments and reduced according to measured performance, for 15 years from August 2028. The cost of procurement is shared among generators only. Portal Energia Limpa records that the agency will reassess the contracts if Congress changes this cost allocation.

The risk is split as follows: performance below the contracted level falls on the seller, through the reduction of the instalment; the cost of the service falls on generators, for as long as the allocation rule remains in force. The BRL 180,000 per MW per year between the two caps measures how much more is deemed acceptable to pay for local content.

For the investor, the cap is the starting point of the bid. What sustains 15 years of revenue is the availability delivered month by month and the stability of the rule on who pays.
