A 1.29 MWh hybrid system at the Rivelli farm
Powersafe and Zipp Energia have commissioned a hybrid system at Rivelli Alimentos' breeder farm in Carmo do Cajuru (MG): six Huawei cabinets with 1.29 MWh, a 378 kWp plant, the Cemig D grid and a diesel generator. According to Canal Solar, it is the first private-customer BESS in the state with full approval from the distribution utility.
The estimated saving, around 50% of the bill, comes from capping demand at 360 kW, shifting consumption out of the peak and correcting the power factor. None of this has a contracted term. The value follows the tariff, reviewed every year by ANEEL: in the Cemig D adjustment approved on 26 May 2026, the average effect was 6.50%, and 9.43% at high voltage.
For those assessing behind-the-meter batteries, the calculation rests on an assumption that changes with each tariff cycle. The other part of the value is independent of adjustments: around 10 hours of autonomy for critical loads and up to 27 hours with non-essential loads shed.
Full approval opens the way for other consumers in Minas Gerais. The saving is an estimate. Production continuity is already installed.
