Tesla Roadster jump with cold gas thrusters

Post commented onPost by Gustavo Carriconde: “Na quinta à noite, um carro subiu uma rampa de cabeça pra baixo e voou.” See the full post in the Linus publication ↗

On 15 October, at a SpaceX test area in Texas, a Tesla Roadster left an inverted ramp, spun in the air and landed, in a system with cold gas thrusters. In the reposted post, driver Gustavo Carriconde notes that there was only a dummy in the seat, the flight lasted seconds and the car, promised in 2017 for 2020, is now forecast by Tesla for 2028.

Decrypt, on 16 October, records that Tesla's website declares the flight version not approved for public roads and that the FAA estimates five to nine years to certify a new aircraft type. The article details the reservations: USD 50,000 for the Performance version and USD 250,000 for the Thrust, with USD 5,000 upfront and the balance within ten days.

This reservation brings customer cash to the company before there is a series product. The buyer advances the investment and carries the timeline as a risk, in a launch that has already slipped several times.

The demonstration settled the image. Certification is the milestone that converts a deposit into a delivery.
