The Greener immersion and commercial and industrial storage

Greener, through its CEO Marcio Takata, announces the Imersão Greener BESS C&I, on 19 and 20 October, in São Paulo. The thesis is that commercial and industrial storage opens room for energy traders, integrators, engineering firms and investors, provided there is a viable solution and a sustainable remuneration model.

The picture changed this year. ANEEL Normative Resolutions 1,161 and 1,162, published in the DOU on 24 June, made storage a regulated asset, with rules on connection, metering, billing and penalties. According to a technical analysis by Canal Solar, a battery in a consumer unit without micro or mini generation cannot inject into the grid.

This defines the perimeter for those selling the service. Remuneration in C&I has to fit behind the meter, in demand management and load shifting, and the contract has to state who is responsible for connection and metering.

The opportunity has a defined outline. The model that makes the numbers work starts from the client's bill and the 2026 rules. The battery comes in afterwards.
