Wireless power in Finland and what Willo still has to prove

The publication presents wireless energy transfer as a line of development in Finland, cites the startup Willo among the companies exploring continuous energy delivery and records that domestic or long-distance grid use remains beyond current reach.

The missing information is the size of the capital sustaining this phase. Willo raised 2.9 million euros in a pre-seed round announced on 5 February 2026, led by byFounders, as reported by Tech.eu, funds intended to move from demonstration to the engineering stage and a reference system for partners.

The difference in scale defines the horizon. Pre-seed venture capital finances proof of concept and intellectual property, not deployment of energy infrastructure. For the power sector, this means the technology does not yet compete for capital budgets with generation, transmission or storage assets.

The moment wireless energy leaves the laboratory is determined by the arrival of infrastructure capital, absent from the current round.
