Osda announced the start of operations of its manufacturing base in Jiaxing, China, with 107,000 square metres, a 6 GW module line and 3 GW of integrated generation, storage and charging equipment. According to Osda's own timeline, the base has been operational since 2025.

The announcement reports installed capacity and does not report the order book: how much of these 6 GW has already been sold, under what contracts and for how long. According to EUPD Research, in an analysis published in pv magazine in January 2026, annual Chinese demand should range between 320 and 350 GW from 2026, and even with a break-even utilisation of 60% the country's module capacity remains several times larger.

Capacity without contracts is fixed cost. In a market with structural oversupply, a new line competes for volume on price, and the Brazilian distributor that commits to stock today carries the risk of devaluation until sale. A shorter delivery time is worth little if the module loses value between order and delivery.

The volume already contracted from these lines, and for how long, defines whether the factory is revenue or idle capacity.
