Grupo Condumax Incesa inaugurated the expansion of its Olímpia factory on 27 October. According to EXAME, annual wire and cable capacity rises from 25,000 to around 35,000 tonnes, and a new BRL 160 million medium-voltage cable factory is planned for 2027. Distribution utilities account for 40% of 2025 revenue of BRL 1.7 billion.

Demand has global backing. The IEA report Electricity Grids and Secure Energy Transitions, of October 2023, calculates that the world needs to add or renew more than 80 million kilometres of grids by 2040, equivalent to the existing grid, and that grid investment needs to almost double by 2030, to more than USD 600 billion per year.

In the IEA's calculation, renewal is counted together with expansion. In Brazil, EXAME cites an Abradee estimate of around BRL 260 billion of investment by distribution utilities by 2030 in modernisation, digitalisation and resilience.

For the domestic cable chain, replacement and modernisation of grids sustain demand beyond data centres and electric mobility. The 2027 factory is the next milestone to watch.
